Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge

This is our third year being here. You can tell that my girls and I love it every time we come here. This is paradise for us.

We had a wonderful time and are already talking about a return trip! Your Lodge is so perfect and with Tiffany's cooking, we just can't complain. Of course you know how successful the fishing trip was, but the bear trek could not have been any better than it was.We were up close and personal with one and Joel filmed some remarkable photos. Thanks for putting up with us for dinner and all the crazy talk! We have memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks to you and Tiffany for all the hard work.

We all had such a wonderful time at you corner of the world , what a great place, and the hosts are second to none. I kind of felt sorry for the poor guys sitting next to my family they had to endure family vacation pics several times from total strangers. Some thiings in life you do just once, but we have all decided to come up again as soon as possible.Chalee has not stopped telling all of her buddys....

We sure enjoyed our stay with you! Overall an excellent experience. The Lodge, the staff and all your hospitality was unsurpassed. You really know how to treat a guest. George sure liked it, and he made it back to the South of France with all the fish intact.

What a great setting and excellent meals. We enjoyed the hospitality and the fishing. Our bear watch in Katmai was successful as well as three days of great fishing. Raspberry....does provide for the complete Alaska Experience. We hope to return soon.

We had so much fun playing Slap Jack and Crazy Eights, Ping-Pong, Baseball, and swinging on the buoy swing. We also loved the tour you gave us on our first day. Now we know what a Chocolate Lilly looks like! Thanks for helping us wake Matt up each morning!

Tell your mom and dad thank you so much for a wonderful week. Beautiful accommodations, wonderful food, great adventures on the boat and bear viewing, fun kayaking, hiking, and beach combing.

Our stay here on Raspberry Island has been amazing! It was everything we thought it would be an much much more! I think we saw every animal you could possibly see! We came within 30 ft of a huge Finback Whale in our kayaks, and even closer to the Alaskan Brown Bear! Fishing was a Blast! We loved watching the Eagles feast after Birch cleaned our Fish! The food was out of this world! You will definitely not go hungry! Thank you so much Birch, Tiffany, Jack, Alenna, Fisher and Sage for the wonderful Adventure! We will def be coming back!

From the first day: Whales, sea otters, a Sea Lion eating a salmon and a bear to the last day: the biggest salmon of our trip! It was all tremendous! Can’t wait to return!!

From the moment we boarded the boat on Kodiak it has been a treat. Birch treated us to a full symphony of whales blowing and diving and showing us tail on the trip out. Then a multitude of otters were on display with a sea lion with a salmon in his mouth in their midst. We arrived and the whole clan greeted us like they had waited months for us to get here. We kayaked the same afternoon and while watching an eagle on her nest were treated with a bear calmly eating grass and not minding us a bit.

Fishing was so much fun the next day and the guys finally learned how to help Birch a little, while the girls reeled in the King SALMON! Everything has been excellent including the accommodations, food and activities. Everyone has been so service oriented and want you to be so pampered. We have enjoyed everything emmensley including the kids and dogs. Tiffany is a ***** (five star) chef. Yummy cookies!

Thanks again for a great long weekend at Raspberry. I had some fantastic first time experiences during my days there. I had never fished with flies or gone deep sea fishing before. Your hospitality was wonderful! The staff was really helpful and fun to be around. I came back and put the fish immediately to work. So far, halibut shish kebob and grilled fillets both were wonderful. I never had fresher fish! I hope you have a really successful summer season and hope to see you soon.

Thank you Tiffany, Birch and Jack for a wonderful few days on Raspberry Island.  It was the ‘cherry on top’ of a fabulous 30th Anniversary Trip: great food, great fun, peace and quiet.  Tiffany and Birch you have two great kids, too!  This may have been our first trip here, but surely not our last.

Raspberry Island Remote Lodge rounded up our 10-day trip to Alaska-and it was the trip’s highlight!  Nowhere else did we find this abundance of unspoiled nature and wildlife, this special tranquility and serenity.  On our arrival day Birch took the time to show us the feeding grounds of the whales, then the playgrounds of the otters, and finally the rock of the sea-lions-an unforgettable day!  Seeking the Grizzlies at Frasier Lake, being ferry close to them without feeling threatened, was in impressive experience; a walk with Jack along the shoreline showed the unspoiled beauty of Raspberry Strait.  Finally we kayaked a full day in the area, accompanied by eagles, otters and whales.

Amazing fishing-caught a 5/8”, 163 lb Halibut, limited out on Silvers, caught tons of Crab.  Great fishign, great company, fabulous food.  We’ll definately be back.  Thanks for the memories!

John and I can’t thank you enough for all the kindness, hospitality, good fishing, and of course, excellent meals during our 1st stay here on Raspberry Island.  Although the weather didn’t always cooperate, we had a great time and will have many fond memories to take home.  You really do an outstanding job of making everyone feel at home here!  We couldn’t have picked a better place to spend our 10th anniversary!!  ...Thanks for hunting down those Orcas for us--definitely a huge highlight!  I will work on John for a return trip...

Weather could not have been any nicer.  Warm and sunny-which was an unexpected surprise!  Fishing was fantastic-we will be taking home a lot of fish.  Birch, Tiffany and crew did an outstanding job with everything!  We hope to come back soon :)

Wonderful 5 days of fishing and relaxing.  Taking home plenty of halibut, salmon and crab-limited on all 2 days, last day of ‘fun fishing’ incredible, I caught and released over 15 Silvers and uncounted Pinks on flies and spinners.  Birch did a great job putting us on the fish and keeping us relaxed with the conversation.  

I’ve fished Alaska before but this is the only place that I’m already planning to come back to (in the near future if possible).  

Tiffany and Liz kept the food coming, in quantity and quality.   

Wonderful people, wonderful fishing, wonderful site.  5 stars on everything.

What another wonderful stay at Raspberry Island!  The level of comfort provided by Tiffany, Birch and staff makes this one of the best lodges in Alaska.  The food was great, the fishing was outstanding and the facilities are top notch.  The ability to fish for different species and to fish in sevral different locations in one day makes this area very unique.  The silvers were here in full force and I enjoyed targeting them in both salt and fresh water.  This was some of the best salmon fishing we have had in Alaska. Thanks so much for all of the hard work to make our week so much fun.  We will be back!

Honestly, I don’t know where to begin.  From the moment Mark and Andy started planning this trip, I have been replaying our previous Alaska vacations in my mind.  Each one was different, floating, bare boating, lots of fishing--BUT nothing prepared me for your wonderful lodge experience!  I have never felt so instantly welcomed, so involved and so satisfied at the end of the day.  Thank you for all of your hard work and kindness....  And of course, the big bonus-lots of fish and crab!

9/18  Our first impressions of this location is one of awe and excitement.  My pulse is racing just thinking about staying this week.  

9/20  The reality of this trip has out paced my imagination; and please don’t think my imagination feeble.  Birch is equal parts clever, enthusiastic, kind and thoughtful.  How does he manage to keep up the energy to still be excited about another whale or otter or seal or eagle.  It’s totally infectious.  Our muscles ache with the joy of the wants of another day.  And Tiffany is no less wonderful, attentive, sweet, generous.  There is also another factor which is no more than the luck of the draw--the other people staying here.  I want to befriend each one of them.  I want to meet them all here again next year...
